It’s impressive how balanced many 2017s are beginning to show today, and this is a very good example of that. The wine is subtle and well composed, with no hard edges, no excess, and a fruit profile that is a touch more open than the stricter side of Saint-Estèphe, yet still very pleasing to drink. The texture is better than first expected, giving the wine more presence and continuity on the palate. The finish is clean, steady, and persistent, without any under- or overripe notes. A very satisfying Bordeaux that already gives real pleasure.
