Alexander Mackh


Growing up in gastronomy and hospitality in the Alps, I developed an early understanding of taste, service, and the culture around wine. At 12, I moved to England for boarding school, which shaped an international perspective from a young age. After graduating from hospitality school in Switzerland in 2015, I entered the wine world by building a wine import business, a journey that would later evolve into Amelie. In 2018, I founded Grassl Glass, followed by Amelie Switzerland in 2022. Today, my focus is on an ongoing journey through the world of wine — exploring places, producers, and ideas across continents.

Growing up

Raised in gastronomy and hospitality in the Alps, where the foundation for a life in wine, service, and taste was formed.

Boarding School

Moved to England to attend Felsted school, beginning an international path early on.

2015
Wine Import Company

Started Alpine Cellar, which later evolved into what is now traded under the name Amelie. 

Higher Education

Graduated from Cesar Ritz Colleges in Switzerland and began turning that hospitality background into an entrepreneurial journey in wine.

2018
Glass Journey Begins

Founded Grassl Glass, built around the idea of creating wine glasses that express the style and character of wine with precision.

2022
Wine & More

Co-founded Amelie Switzerland, bringing together wine, glassware, accessories, and stories under one vision.

Focused on a continuing journey through the world of wine, connecting producers, places, and people across different cultures and markets.
