Le Bourg/sud Réserve Perpétuelle Grand Cru

Champagne La Rogerie

Based on the 2021 vintage, this is a well-balanced Champagne that benefits from air, as it seems slightly restricted at first. The bubbles are fine, the intensity is good, and the wine carries itself with quiet control rather than force. There is a chalky, composed Chardonnay character here, which feels very much in line with Grand Cru fruit from Avize and Oger, while the reserve element adds depth without making the wine heavy. The finish is clean, steady, and delicious.
