Bourgogne Rouge Aux Argillières 2018

Domaine Nicolas Faure

The 2018 Bourgogne Rouge now feels like a wine that should be drunk, or at least one that is passing through a less expressive phase. The fruit has largely faded into more tertiary aromas, while the darker side of the wine begins to overtake the structure, especially with the lower acidity, which leaves the balance clearly lower. That same weight also affects the texture, with some parts of the palate carrying more than others and the wine losing a sense of continuity. Even so, it still speaks clearly as Pinot Noir and remains a high-level example of regional Burgundy. The finish is more limited, a little one-dimensional, and fades rather than building.
