Aloxe-Corton 2021

Domaine Nicolas Faure

A vintage that feels clearly classical, carrying many of the elements that make Faure’s wines so compelling. At this stage, the fruit is still a little muted, with some reduction that needs air to settle, and the wine feels slightly out of balance at first because of its vibrancy. The texture is not the strongest part here, though the 100% whole bunch still gives the wine a familiar mouthfeel, especially in combination with the lighter vintage character. The spice sits more in the foreground, and while the wine is clearly Faure and clearly Pinot Noir, the sense of place is a little less defined for now. The finish lingers well and leaves a good impression.
